HOW TO PLAY
GETTING STARTED
Each player begins with:
FIVE GIFTS
THREE TRICKS
THREE SAND TOKENS
SETTING UP YOUR PLAY AREA
- Place the remaining gifts in a draw pile
- Make sure all your tokens are on the sand token side
- Familiarize yourself with your tricks and what they do
TURN RULES
- The player to left of the dealer goes first
- Players take turns in a clockwise direction
After each round, the player to left becomes the new dealer
Flip over the top card from the DRAW pile to create your PLAY pile and start the game!
GIFT GAMEPLAY
GIVING IS RECEIVING: MATCH RULES
During your turn, place down a color on the PLAY pile
If you match the color
Flip your sand token face up to receive a sand. Doing this ends your turn.
STAYING ALIVE: SAND RULES
After you flip all your sand tokens, pick up a gift from the DRAW pile and reset all your tokens back to the sand token side.
IF YOU DO NOT MATCH THE COLOR:
Your turn immediately ends. Keep in mind, you can intentionally choose not to match.
TRICKS GAMEPLAY
GETTING TRICKY: TRICK RULES
- You can play a trick on your turn before you play a gift
- You must play a gift after you have played a trick
- One trick at a time unless a trick says otherwise
- Do not wait your turn for a REACTION trick
SPECIAL DISCARD RULES:
- Always discard gifts on top of the DRAW pile face down
- The player who discards chooses what they discard
WINNING THE GAME:
The game ends when only one player has gifts left!
